XM teams with AOL to get onto your desktop
So it seems that XM radio put some heads together and came up with the idea that they might be able to attract more subscribers without the prohibitive cost of the equipment as a barrier to entry. As such, they today announced a partnership with internet behemoth
AOL to get to potential subscribers where they already live: their desktop computers. Under the new partnership, 20 XM and 130 AOL radio stations will be available for free, with a "premium" radio service making 70 XM channels available for an as yet undetermined monthly fee.
Existing subscribers to AOL will automatically be privy to the premium XM content. The whole shebang is set to kick off this summer.
