Toshiba's launching their gigabeat F in America promptly
Toshiba's Gigabeat line isn't brand spanking new (not overseas anyway), but they're definitely serious about getting a piece of the pie in America with their
impending product launch. We might accuse them or pandering to the indie rock crowd what with Joan Jett and Vendetta Red pimping their product, but then they had confuse everbody with a Blues Traveler endorsement; they are, however, pretty serious about recalling for you how well equipped their players are with MP3, WAV, and WMA/PlaysForSure support, a 16-hour integrated battery, and that sweet, sweet 2.2-inch QVGA color display. They've also loosed the final details: the 10GB MEG-F10 will come in silver, blue and black acrylic for $279, the 20GB MEG-F20 will come in silver and black brushed aluminum for $329, the 40GB MEG-F40 will come with an in-line remote and in a brushed aluminum champagne finish for $399, and the 60GB MEG-F60 comes in a
"steel" brushed aluminum finish at $449 (most of this we already knew). We can definitely live with this.
