Flying with your robot: Not always a good idea

A quick reminder: if you're planning on flying with your robot, please make sure to get to the airport early.
Otherwise you're going to end up like a bunch of students from the University of Evansville, who discovered all this first-hand after they were barred from boarding a plane with a small robot they'd built for the annual Trinity College Firefighting Home Robot Contest. Northwest was less concerned that the robot would suddenly becoming self-aware and hijack the plane or that it could be used to conceal a weapon, and more worried that magnetics in its motors might disrupt the plane's electronics.
