IBM to police speeders in United Arab Emirates

You might want to think twice about speeding while on your next trip to the United Arab Emirates, you jetsetter you,
because you may very well have IBM looking over your shoulder.  The company has just landed a $125 million deal to install "smart boxes" in tens of thousands of vehicles in the UAE next year. The scary part: the GPS-enabled devices will monitor drivers' speed and give them a verbal warning if they creep over the speed limit.  If they ingnore the warning, the smart box will wirelessly trasmit  the car's speed, identity and location to the police who will promptly slam you with a ticket. Not the first time this has been
tried, of course, but we think this one will probably stick.
