Sony Vaios on the road to Blu-ray

Not that we have any reason to find it surprising that Sony—one of the creators of the
Blu-ray disc format—would be putting Blu-ray in their machines, but hey, what do you know; Sony announced their intent to equip their Vaio machines with Blu-ray drives in the near future. Also up for official support is DSD, the audio technology behind SACD (think of it as PCM/WAV is to the CD), but they're clear on not actually adding SACD drives to their boxes. We're not exactly sure what they want to do with DSD since PC audio systems are for the most part hardly audiophile-worthy, but we're pretty sure it'll become a bit more clarified in the future what Sony's got up their sleeves—just don't say ATRAC-DSD, guys.
