Edible UIs?

When Steve Jobs said the OS X graphical user interface was "lickable," he didn't mean it literally — but Dan Maynes-Aminzade does. He's so far developed two Edible User Interfaces: the BeanCounter and the TasteScreen. The BeanCounter uses jellybean dispensation to track memory usage of computer processes — taste the rainbow of your fruity memory hogs. The TasteScreen would make Willy Wonka proud, and obsessive-compulsives very nervous. It literally drips small quantities of flavoring from a USB device mounted atop an LCD monitor. The flavored chemicals drop down and coat the monitor with a thin liquid residue that dispenses flavor when touched with one's tongue. Yeah, um, if you were at all concerned about your keyboard being germ-contaminated and making you sick, you really ought to give the TasteScreen a pass.
