Nvu: Open Source Web Editing for OS X

Looking for an inexpensive solution to building your own static websites?  Check out Nvu Preview Release 1.0: "Nvu
(pronounced N-view, for a 'new view') is a complete Web Authoring System that combines web file management and easy-to-use WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) web page editing.  Nvu is designed to be extremely easy to use, making it ideal for non-technical computer users who want to create an attractive, professional-looking web site without needing to know HTML or web coding."

If you're looking to get into static webpage design and you don't want to drop the money on Adobe GoLive or Macromedia Dreamweaver, then this might be a nice free alternative.  I downloaded a copy and started playing around with it.  Nvu works rather easily with various tabbed view options, including Normal WYSIWIG layout, HTML tags view,
source code view, and a preview pane.  It also comes with a publish option where you can upload your web pages via FTP to a public server. If you want to use it with your .Mac space, you're going to have to publish it locally and then drag the files over to the Sites folder of your iDisk. You can't beat free, so check it out.
