Mvisto DivX/ISO pocket media player reviewed
I4U News has a review of the Mvisto DivX/ISO pocket media player, a screen-less device from MacPower & Tytech Technology. The device seems to be as straightforward as you could ask for — it's basically just a 2.5-inch hard drive enclosure with the added benefit of Embedded Linux (v2.4 ucLinux) so you can manage the media on the Mvisto on your TV
(it also comes with a remote). And it looks like it'll play just about any media you can throw at it, including DivX,
XviD, uncompressed ISO files, MP3s, and everyone's favorite how-did-that-name-stick format, OGG Vorbis. It also has just about all the outputs you could want including, S-Video/SCART/VGA, composite, component, and HDTV up to 1080i.
According to IFU, you can get one preloaded with a 40GB hard drive for 250 Euros (about $325US), although it looks like you can also just get the enclosure and pop in any drive you like — hello
120GB.
