ParkMobile threatens to eradicate meter tickets

ParkMobile

We're not entirely sure why any municipality would willingly help pilot ParkMobile's product, but some lucky residents of Putney (a suburb of London) will be able to take advantage of the meter-free system, which instead bills individual parking accounts. Users place an identifiable badge in their window and call a number when they park which activates their billing counter. Call again and you're out of "parking mode", and only pay for the time you used—no fuss, no muss, and no parking tickets for being a quarter short. Of course, meter maids will still patrol the rounds to make sure everyone's activated their parking counter, but still, we're gonna miss pulling up to a meter with over an hour left on it.
