Thalys's/21Net's high-speed train/connection, respectively
Our sorry excuse for a Shinkansen, the Acela, is pretty wiped right now, but we have to keep it in perspective—it shouldn't be that much of a surprise when other countries have bullet-trains, let alone high-speed rails equipped with broadband satellite uplinks. Thalys's Paris-Brussels span has been equipped with 21Net service to blast 4Mbps down and 2Mbps upstream from the train vai a lo-pro antenna (right), to be shared via WiFi amongst its passengers. Lucky! Ever use it on any sweet downloads?
