Trimble Pathfinder ProXH GPS achieves "subfoot" accuracy

We're just thankful that our GPS can tell us what road we're on and when we're supposed to make a right turn, but if you need more granular data, you might want to take a look at the new Trimble Pathfinder ProXH, which the company bills as its first "subfoot" GPS receiver. Trimble is pitching the unit — which can produce results accurate to 8 inches with an optional antenna — to professionals doing Geographic Information System data collection and mapping. The unit works by postprocessing GPS data using proprietary software that reviews and merges data from multiple readings to improve accuracy.
