Toshiba says: No compromise on next-gen DVD yet!

Ok, so maybe there won't be an agreement on a unified next-generation DVD. Toshiba, ringleader of the HD
DVD camp, just issued a statement responding to yesterday's press reports that they were close to working things out with Sony (the main backer of the rival Blu-ray standard),
saying that at this point in their negotiations "nothing has been decided, and absolutely no decision has been made for unification on any basis" and that they're still set to show off a new higher capacity HD DVD at the upcoming Media-Tech Expo in Las Vegas. Could also be what people in the biz call "posturing".
