Domo arigato, Mr. Domo Roboto

Domo

First off, sorry about the lame title, but when robots and 80s pop culture collide, we're powerless to resist, especially when it's actually the name of the bot. Domo is the latest humanoid robot developed by the MIT Humanoid Robotics group, in collaboration with Toyota and NASA. It's based on the next-generation platform of that used for MIT's famous Cog and Kismet robots and is designed to be able to perform tasks ranging from helping out around the house to factory work to building habitats on Mars. To develop learning algorithms for the robot, researchers are looking at the cognitive and motor development of infants to help Domo learn to control its body and manipulate objects in the same manner as a young child. Now how about covering the fella up a little?
