Kodak stays on top of the digicam market, but Canon busts Sony down to no. 3
Kodak already clawed their way to the top of the US digital camera market last year, abruptly edging Sony out of the number one spot they'd held for so long, but now it's Canon that's raced ahead of Sony as well, nabbing second place away from them according to IDC, which recently released its rankings for first quarter US sales. Rounding out the rest of the list, in order, were Olympus, HP, FujiFilm, and Nikon. Not incidentally, Kodak CEO Daniel Carp stepped down on Wednesday, to be replaced by Antonio Perez, an HP veteran the company brought in two years ago to lead its digital business.
