TDK perpendicular recording breakthrough

Showing us they can walk-the-talk, TDK is reported to have created a hard disk drive magnetic head that can write between 150 and 200 gigabits of data per square inch using
perpendicular recording. TDK and Fujitsu formed a strategic alliance last year to develop these heads so
Fujitsu's plans for a 200GB, 2.5-inch drive by early 2007 look right on track.
