MenuVista shows what's on the plate for the evening

We'd heard of this a little while ago, but it wasn't until we saw it at
NYU's ITP Spring 2005 show that we were able to take in the complete grandiosity of MenuVista. A senior thesis project by Chia-wei Chang, an overhead projector and pressure sensitive dining table in a darkened restaurant allow for an interactive menu system that uses your your real placeware as a display for ordering; you can select a beverage, appetizer, and main courses sorted by food type and portion size.
Perhaps the most wonderful thing about MenuVista, however, was that it wasn't just a concept piece, and actually worked when we tried it. Well, maybe that and the fact that it was delicious, delicious Thai. Yum!
