TigerDirect Loses Round One. Game Over?
Appleinsider is reporting that TigerDirect's request for a preliminary injunction to stop Apple from using the word "Tiger" in their Mac OS X marketing and advertising materials was denied on May 11th, by the United States District Court for the District of Florida.
Predictably, the Court found that "there is greater risk of damage to Apple from granting the injunction than any potential harm to TigerDirect from Apple's use of Tiger marks."
There's the chance, I suppose, that TigerDirect could proceed with their trademark suit despite this early blow, but it seems unlikely.
[Thanks, Logan!]
