KDDI announces 5 new 3G phones: TV, radio, music, GPS and more
Japanese cellular provider KDDI announced 5 new AU-designed 3G multimedia handsets today which operate on their
(mature) 2.4 Mbps CDMA 1X "WIN" network. The phones will be released throughout the summer in time for three new service offerings called (from Babel-nese-fish): "EZ television" — an interactive enhancement to their TV service,
"Making hear, search" — a music search enhancement to their existing music download service (about 6 million downloads to date), and "relieved Nabi" — a GPS tracking function for family members. Each phone is uniquely configured to access some or all the above mentioned services in addition to hosting features such as multi-megapixel cameras, Bluetooth,
document viewers for PDF, Word, Excel, etc., stereo speakers, FM Tuner, miniSD expansion for all that media, and web browsers. Rest of world out here in featureless phone land... you may go back to pretending places like Japan (and Korea)
don't exist.
