ml_iPod Winamp plug-in frees iPod owners from iTunes
For those who are up on the iPod but down on iTunes, there's a new game in town in the form of a Winamp plug-in that allows you to manage your music collection via the latter Windows audio application. Features include the ability yo sync multiple iPods, create smart playlists,
and the biggie: copy tracks from the iPod to your computer. There are
other ways to suck down tracks from the iPod, but this plug-in would offer an integrated solution right inside your music management software. There's also integration with Hymn, so you can make tracks purchased from the iTunes Music Store a bit more, shall we say, portable. The software should work with all iPod models, though folks are reporting trouble when used with the iPod shuffle (check
Database Builder and
Shuffler for other non-iTunes options for the shuffle).
