Revolution controller akin to universal remote?

It's been said before, but maybe it's time we start to seriously consider this possibility—or maybe you've already been doing that. In a recent interview, Nintendo's VP of sales & marketing teased us with this concept:

"We announced the ability to download and play the best NES games, SNES games, N64 games, in addition to Revolution games and GameCube games. If you put those controllers all lined up together, they're all very different. So think about what kind of device is going to allow you to play all those different types of games. It's pretty interesting."

A traditional touch-pad, like the one featured in the image here, would be too awkward to use for gaming. But the universal remote concept is likely something Nintendo has been toying around with.
