Sporadic Saturday Survey: Blue LEDs... had enough?

Reading this article on Wired got me thinking about how many devices I have – just within reach right now – that sport blue LEDs. Let's see...

Power Mac G4 Cube (x1)
Griffin PowerMate (x1)
Mercury Elite Pro external firewire drives (x3)
Maxtor OneTouch firewire drives (x1)
SmartDisk FireLite pocket drives (x3)
Mac mini (x1)
Bluespoon AX headset (x1)
Jabra BT250 headset (x1)
and the WiFi indicator on my HP DeskJet 5850 (x1)

That's 13. Maybe it's my lucky number? And this is just at home, in my immediate area at this very moment. Looking around the apartment I see a handful of items (chargers, phones, TiVos, etc) with red, green and yellow LEDs, but they are clearly outnumbered. I'm so used to all this blue that I don't even notice it anymore in the normal course of things. They've become the visual equivalent of white noise...

But I guess some people are getting fed up. According to Wired, "Product reviews on sites like Epinions.com are peppered with complaints about dazzling blue LEDs."
