ACMI produces 1-mm CMOS

Somehow, we don't anticipate it showing up in DSLRs anytime soon,
but we're psyched nonetheless about ACMI's 1-mm color CMOS (not pictured), which the company claims is the world's smallest. The company, which specializes in medical cameras, sees uses in applications like surveillance and medicine
(if you've had an endoscopy or any other procedure in which a camera on a cable is inserted into one of your body cavities, you'll certainly appreciate the idea of a smaller camera), but we assume it'll also find its way into the 1%
of cellphones that still don't sport cameras.
