The Gateway M250
It's not all that much to look at, but Gateway just introduced the M250, a new laptop aimed at road warriors and students that's just 1.1-inches thick (at its thinnest) and has a 14-inch widescreen LCD. Comes in three versions:
-
The M250S, a low-end version which has a 1.4GHz Intel Celeron M 360 processor, 256MB of DDR2 RAM, a 40GB hard
drive, and a DVD/CD-RW combo drive. Retail price: $849.99. -
The M250E, which takes it up a notch and has a 1.60GHz Intel Pentium M Processor, 256MB of DDR2 RAM, and a 40GB
hard drive (there's no mention of an optical drive). Retail price: $1,269.00. -
And the M250XL, their high-end version, this one has a 1.87GHz Pentium M processor, 512MB, and an 80GB hard
drive. Retails for just thirty bucks more than the M250E, which makes you wonder why anyone would buy the mid-range
model (either that, or there's a typo in their press release).
