Nintendo Revolution officially unveiled in Japan

Nintendo decided to show-off its next-gen console to the Japanese press for the first time yesterday. And while we still don't know what the release date & price are, what the controller is, or for that matter, what any of the Revolution's games are going to look like, we have been given a few more insights into the mysterious project.

Besides yesterday's news about Nintendo's plans to charge for downloads of classic games, Iwata revealed that, as rumored, nearly all GameCube peripherals would be compatible with the Revolution. Aside from this interesting tidbit, Nintendo chose not to release any new information, but reiterated that the doors will be blown wide open before year's end.
