Nokia sued for infringing a patent on hands-free answering

You know how we love covering ridiculous lawsuits over
patents on obvious ideas here at Engadget. The latest:
Nokia is being slapped with patent infringement by developing technology to let users answer their cellphones without touching them. Apparently, inventor Jari Lahtinen convinced the Finnish patent office to give him sole usage of the concept of answering the phone by "touching a button in the hands-free device or through voice control." Nokia spokeswoman Riita Mord said the company is seeking to have the patent invalidated. And here we thought this sort of monkey business only went on in the States.

[Thanks, Mike]
