Use that new GSM Treo firmware to unlock your phone

Wow, PalmOne's new
Treo firmware hasn't even been out a day and already someone's found a way to use it to actually unlock a locked Cingular GSM phone. Since it's an unlocked firmware installer, it simply won't run on a locked phone (PalmOne probably expects your carrier will update your phone,
whenever they get around to it), so supposedly the trick is to install the 1.23 upgrade first, and then to go up to 1.28 which will unlock your phone (and take away all that nasty Cingular branding). We can't verify the trick's validity since we've only got CDMA Treos floating 'round the office, but before you go blow up your phone, remember to read the instructions!
