YourAir provides London pollution alerts via SMS

We're tempted to say that it's a sad commentary on the state of the environment that it's now possible for Londoners to get pollution alerts via SMS using a system called YourAir —
which provides street-by-street coverage, enabling asthmatics and others with breathing problems to find out when it's unsafe to go outdoors. But our first thought when we heard about this was, why don't we have this in New York? Our pollution has to be at least as bad as that in London — and we're pretty sure that there are entrepreneurs here who could make this an ad-supported, profitable business, rather than a non-profit experiment like YourAir.
