Take me out to the Xbox game
On July 16, when the Kansas City T-Bones and the Schaumburg Flyers take the field for a Northern League (minor-league) game, only one representative from each team will be present. These two players will plop themselves down into reclining chairs around home plate, grab an Xbox controller, and slug it out for two innings of MVP 2005—using virtually created versions of the two teams—on the ballpark's 16x24 big screen. And when the real teams eventually show up for the top of the third the results of the virtual innings will be in effect. Imagine that. America's greatest pastime, eh?
