Motorola buys chunks of Sendo

The cellphone biz is awful hard right now, and between cannibalism and coagulation, dog-eat-dog doesn't even seem to cover it. Between AT&T and Cingular,
Sprint and Nextel,
Sony and Ericsson,
Alltel and Western Wireless,
BenQ and Siemens, if you're not prepared to buy someone else, you're probably prepared to go out of business. So it's of no huge surprise that UK cellphone company Sendo, which as of a couple days ago sought legal financial protection in bankruptcy, got picked up by Motorola today.
The ink hasn't been aired to the press, but we do know Moto's taking over their R&D team and facilities, and gets their entire intellectual property portfolio (which is about 50 existing patents and 40 pending ones).
