Sun's first laptop: the Ultra 3 Mobile Workstation

You're of a specific ilk if you're the type to blink twice at, say, a Tadpole
Sun UltraSparc based laptop—so this one's for you. Sun quietly announced their own first properly in-house laptop production in the form of the Ultra 3 Mobile Workstation, which will run a 550 MHz or 650 MHz UltraSparc IIi or 1.28 GHz UltraSPARC IIIi, have up to 2GB of RAM, and an 80GB IDE or 73GB UltraSCSI drive. Yeah, these things don't sound small or cheap (they start at $3,400), but c'mon, it's all the power of Solaris on an UltraSparc without that nasty x86 aftertaste. Plus, with Apple going Intel Sun laptops totally have the potential to be the next odd-processor out laptop for cafe-going nerds everywhere.
