Updated KT "Ann" brings SMS, color LCD to landlines

Looks like Korea's KT is trying to cure the case of mobile envy that's hit just about every landline handset over the past couple of years. The company has announced an updated version of its "Ann" cordless phone, which includes a number of cellphone-type features, including the ability to send and receive SMS messages and a color LCD. Additional models are planned, which will include games, customizable ringtones and downloadable wallpaper. In a nod to the fact that this is a home phone, the Ann does include one feature you won't find on all that many cellphones: it also works as a TV remote.
