Carnival outfits ship with WiFi
The first thing we think about when someone mentions cruise ships is Carol Lynley lip-synching "The Morning After"
just before the big one hits. But if Carnival Cruise Lines has its way, the second thing will be WiFi. Responding to requests from both business and pleasure travelers — who have come to expect Internet access wherever they travel (damn straight!) — the company has outfitted one of its new ships, the Carnival Valor, with 200 access points, which they say guarantees a clear signal from just about any location on the ship. Of course, this being a cruise ship, connectivity doesn't come cheap; Carnival is charging 25 cents per minute for access. Might just be worth it if only for an occasional weather update so we can warn Captain Harrison before it's too late.
