Pronto? I'm almost there syncs GPS and communication devices for in-car navigation with less danger

The problem with in-car navigation systems is the difficulty of managing data entry and monitoring while simultaneously piloting your vehicle — "eyes on the road at all times" being in direct contrast with scrutinizing the GPS screen for that left turn you missed a mile back. Oznur Ozkurt's thesis work is the "Pronto? I'm almost there"
project, which integrates your car's navigation system with your cellphone, laptop or PDA to suck down your contacts and plan your route to arrive at the proper address. Along the way it provides traffic updates and adjusts the priority of your contacts based on who you're scheduled to meet with sooner and who your most frequent contacts are, so you can more easily get in touch with the folks you're most likely to need to contact during your trip. The system includes a touch-screen, windshield projection, and a dashboard-mounted progress bar. It can even compare your appointment time with the current time, location and speed to derive an ETA and automagically notify your destination contact that you'll be, if you're at all like us, more than a few minutes late.
