Apple interested in corporate podcasting space?
Steve Rubel was kind enough to draw our attention to an interview with the Bulldog Reporter (scroll down to "Tech Tools No Substitute for Old-School Media
Relations..."), where John Markoff, the venerable NY Times tech reporter, said that Steve Jobs told him he's
"getting interest from corporations about creating podcasts to reach customers and others directly — without going through [traditional media]. An example might include something like Adobe wanting a podcast for Photoshop users."
I have no doubt that many corporations are interested in exploring this brave not-so-new medium of podcasting to and for the masses, and the Photoshop user example is a fine one. I could see other software companies following suit. If the content is interesting – and useful – people will subscribe and they will listen and it will reflect positively on the company behind the podcast. I don't know that they'd pay for it, but that depends on the content. I am sure if Apple chooses to pursue or participate in this area it would be a hit with all sides.
[Thanks, Steve]
