99 years for stealing a cellphone

Texas Justice

We know everyone's got their own way of doing things, but Glenn Alvin Reed found out the hard way that when you're on trial for stealing a cellphone and then assaulting its owner after he demands it back — and you have a ton of priors — it's probably not a good idea to taunt the jury into sentencing you to life in prison. Fortunately the jury was too smart to fall for his mindgames and sentenced him to 99 years instead. Not surprisingly, this all went down in the state of Texas, which from what we've seen on Texas Justice, is totally not into crime.
