FOMA AV Unit connects phones and A/V equipment

NTT DoCoMo and Hagiwara Syscom announced
their business-card sized "FOMA AV Unit" yesterday. The unit, which is currently being incorporated into consumer
products by Sony, Tmsuk Sanyo, and AOS
Technologies, provides a wireless link between
mobile phones and home electronics over the
FOMA network. It has USB, SD, audio and video
inputs and outputs, and even a microphone input, but which of these you use will obviously depend on what device
you're trying to wirelessly connect your phone to. It should soon be painfully simple for (Japanese) users to
connect directly to virtually all of their home equipment from their mobile phone, making catching up on the
latest Morning Musume news almost too easy.
