RadioShack's VEX Robotics Design System reviewed

Anyone else find it ironic (in the literary sense, natch) that RadioShack's remote controlled roll-your-own-robot kit for kids called the... VEX? Ok, the full name is the VEX
Robotics Design System, as you may or may not recall, but that's not really much better—and the $300 pricetag is still a little, um, confounding to say the least. But PC Mag really liked the thing and its supposedly rich software platform, robust hardware and sensor system, and thorough documentation—even though our post about their review is longer than their review is.
