Geist has gone gold, hits stores August 15

Geist, Nintendo's attempt at a solid, exclusive first-person shooter, has officially gone gold, according to the developer's web site.  In Geist, you play as a spirit who has to kill to [insert generic shooter storyline here].  The gimmick is your power to possess other characters – from soldiers to dogs to (if I recall the E3 demo correctly) dog bowls. It has all the features of a game that might help Nintendo with the older crowd – blood and gore,
partial nudity, multiplayer.  Then again, games like Killer 7, Resident Evil 4, and Metroid Prime haven't helped much.  Either way, this is a unique twist on the overused stealth games; hopefully the game quality will fall somewhere between Splinter Cell and Batman Begins.
