Just in case you're really serious about conserving energy, have way too much time on your hands, or are prepping for your master electrician's exam, here are some tips for building a complete home-monitoring system that will track every last amp consumed by your grid. Be forewarned, though: the industrial-grade monitoring equipment used here is not cheap, and hooking it up can be a serious challenge (unless you're a master electrician, anyway).
