Sereniti service lets you outsource network security
Not sure how to secure your home network? Why not just outsource the job? That's the idea behind the Sereniti Smart Home Network Service, a sort of Slomin's Shield for networks. Buy the Sereniti WiFi router, install the accompanying software, and Sereniti will then monitor your network for vulnerabilities and periodically contact the mothership. If it detects a threat to your network, Sereniti's staff will address it. At $100 for the router and $10 a month for the service, this seems like a pretty expensive way to keep a basic home network safe (and we're a little wary of sharing so much data with yet another outside firm), though it could be a reasonable solution for small businesses that don't have their own IT staff.
