The antidote to scaremongering politicians
I'm so totally bored of the current political fashion to bang on about how video games are bad for us, so I've been searching for antidotes. Earlier we reported on a satirical comic strip on the GTA Hot Coffee fiasco and now I've found a light hearted and well researched interview with Postal creator Vince Desi. In the interview he lets rip against anti-violent gaming lobby groups and deflects the criticism levied at violence in games. Apparently, the violence in Postal is all about fun! To test that theory I think I'm gonna go boot up the recent OS X port of the original "Postal". I need to blow up a gas station, which is obviously going to be fun.
I'll leave you with a quote:
"Another time I tossed a grenade down the street at a car. At just that instant, a cop appeared from an alleyway. The car exploded behind him and he turned to see what had happened. There was an unfortunate bystander enjoying the wreckage and the cop decided he was the perp and chased him down, beating him like a baby seal!"
Note: Interview includes swearing (I'd rate it as 17+ with the possibility of a secret sex scene – don't say you weren't warned!).
