Will the Promise TV DVR stick to its word?

Not that we have a problem with a bigass 3.2TB DVR
intended to basically intended to record an entire week's worth of televised programming—as is the case with Promise TV's shortly forthcoming device they showed off at OpenTech—but there are three things about the Promise TV that will sharply limit its effectiveness both before and after it gets to the market. First is cost—right now a 3.2TB array costs over $1,200 cash, not including the equipment required to run it. Second are the tuners: what, you going to rock a tuner dedicated for every channel? Third on-demand television: the DVR probably won't be around in 5 years, so you've got a few reasons to think twice before dropping a mint or more on a device that a multi-tuner Media Center PC will handle all the same in function. Besides, at least then you get a PC out of the thing, too.
