Europe further behind in DTV transition
It's nice to know that we aren't the only country struggling with the Digital Television (DTV) transition. We're a little behind on our deadlines, but apparently some European countries aren't even close. According to Informa Telecoms Media projections presented by Broadcasting & Cable, Germany will miss their 2010 cutover by six years, while Italy is 15 years behind their 2006 deadline.
We're not sure if this is all due to poor planning or if the relatively recent European Union (EU) is creating their own calendar scheme to match their single currency approach. No worries: in order to help with the situation, we're sending both countries an Outlook reminder for their deadlines. Don't hit the "Snooze" button folks.
