Get your bots ready to do battle

We know you're just sitting there in the living room with that robot you painstakingly constructed over the past couple of years, and you're thinking, what the heck am I going to do with this thing? Well, Forbes has the answer, with a guide to some upcoming robot competitions. Some of them are pretty well-known, like the
DARPA Grand Challenge and the
RoboCup (pictured). But the
Trinity College Firefighting Robot Contest is one we almost forgot about. Now we're going to have to hustle if we want to finish that bot we're building from a garden hose,
an old smoke detector and a tube amp in time for next April.
