High-altitude plasma TVs less gassy

Before you even start with the "boy does my TV feel bloated" jokes, take a look at a special Plasma TV developed for high-altitude viewers. The DU-42PY10XH from LG was designed to address some PDP issues that occur well above sea-level.

Since the plasma gases expand at higher altitudes, regular PDP-sets exhibit a buzzing sound caused by the expanded gases moving quicker. LG removed some of the gas from this PDP to minimize the buzz.

We're not sure why it took this long to figure out. LG is headquartered in South Korea where roughly 80% of the country is mountainous. Cool tech, but bad marketing and product strategy. OK, now you can begin the Tums and Gas-X comments.
