Your help requested with top-secret mission
Rem Keith (may or may not be his real name) wants your help. We're not sure why, exactly, but his requests seem harmless enough, so we figured we'd pass them on.
Rem says he's working on a project "for Apple" and he needs the following. "For Apple" doesn't neccesarily mean on Apple's behalf. "For Apple" could just mean he's Steve Jobs' stalker and he's working on an elaborate Christmas present.
It's your call. Here's what he's asked for:
"I am looking for one, two, and three-second video clips from Mac OS X Tiger users that show functions of Apple Mail, iChat AV, Safari, Dashboard, Spotlight, Quicktime 7, and Microsoft Office."
While he is interested in all 1, 2, and 3 second video clips highlighting features of the OS, specifically what he is looking for is:
- Apple Mail – scrolling through Inbox.
- iChat AV – four way video conferencing; regular chatting; three or more person audio chat.
- Safari – browsing a website, such as Apple.com, Google, or Yahoo (can be anything really).
- Spotlight
- searching for something using the Spotlight icon in the top right corner of the screen. *PowerMac G5 required for the demonstration of super-fast searching* - Quicktime 7 – showing real time resizing while watching a movie trailer.
- Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in dock, click on Word to open new document, showing program ready to type new document (if your computer is fast enough to put this into a 3 second clip).
- Dashboard -
opening dashboard using an active screen corner; typing a word into dictionary widget showing the speed of grabbing a definition. - Using Expose and Fast User Switching
Rem is looking for a screen capture (i.e. A SnapzPro movie demonstration or similar) in H.264 format. All screen captures should be full screen,
such as not just the highlighted target.
Got all that? Cool. So if you want to be part of this mystery project, send the requested clips (as few or as many as you want) to clip.submissions@gmail.com.
Rem says he expects to have the final product completed within two months, at which point he'll let us in on the secret.
