Hippo iWish Bluetooth headset provides remote control, plug-and-play install
We see Bluetooth headsets that come with their own USB-to-Bluetooth dongles as a transitional product category: it shouldn't be too long before the majority of PCs come with Bluetooth pre-installed (at least that's what we keep telling ourselves), and these sticks go the way of floppy disks (and free up our USB ports for important things like
USB lava lamps and
USB eye massagers). In the meantime, let's take a quick look at one of the latest of these kits, the Hippo Lifestyles iWish 2210, a folding Bluetooth stereo headset with integrated playback controls and a USB dongle that the company claims "is software-rich and instantly turns the PC or Mac into a wireless jukebox on plugging into the USB slot of PC or Mac," compared to "typical Bluetooth dongles and adapters that are available in the market require cumbersome software installations on the PC." To paraphrase the company name: theyWish. We haven't had that much trouble installing Bluetooth dongles, and would probably prefer a universal adapter that can work with our phone, headphones and other devices to a proprietary one that's designed to work with a specific peripheral. But if you're into the Hippo lifestyle — whatever that is — you can give these a try.
