The Freedom Toaster open-source software kiosk
We've never exactly thought the greatest barrier of entry to open-source software has really been its means of distribution—at least, say, moreso than the 80,000 arcane commands (and their 45 arguments, each) you've got to memorize if you want to use *nix. But hey, unasked questions need answering: enter the Freedom Toaster. Not quite as risqué as the Warez Kiosk in the Mall of America, nor as "clever" as a post-9/11 Francophobic jab, this thing merely takes blank CDRs that you insert and spits 'em back out at ya filled with open-source software goodness. What you do with 'em from there is entirely up to you. Might we recommend installing a package manager?
