DTV adaptors sell big in France
Looks like France isn't as behind on the DTV transition as some of its peer countries in the EU. Just three months after introduction, over 500,000 digital television adoptors have sold in France. Sales of one-million adaptors are expected by the end of the year. DTV adaptors allow analog sets to receive and display a digital signal, so that existing televisions won't require replacement after analog signal termination.
The prediction for digital television transition in France is to have 70% of the television sets in the country capable of receiving digital transmissions. Our hope here is to see DTV adaptors readily availble in major retailers. When you see them widespread in WalMart, you'll know we're on track for the transition.
