Time Warner Cable testing broadband TV service

We doubt they're feeling the heat from Orb,
Slingbox, and other placeshifting services (at least not yet), but Time Warner Cable is testing an unusually enlightened new service (at least for them) in the San Diego area that would offer subscribers the ability to stream up to 75 different cable channels over the web using RealPlayer (including CNN, MTV and ESPN). They haven't announced any plans to introduce this nationwide, but they do mention that the next version will add a DVR-like functionality (that would let you automatically record streams to your PC), closed captioning, video-on-demand, and the ability to view multiple streams at once.
